Welcome From Washington

Hello,
My wife and I just purchased a 2018 Impression 26RET. It is a brand new uni. It still had all the factory protective plastic on everything. The dealer had 3 units and we chose the virgin over the display unit. It was packed into a row of other units so the slides could not even be opened. Of course we will do a thorough walk thru before taking delivery. This is our third trailer but first fith wheel. We were really torn between the 26RET, 28RSS and 28MKS. Each had different features we liked and the give and take of the 3 floorplans made it a difficult choice. Ultimately we chose the 26RET for the storage and the open floor. We are already planning to take out the table and chairs from the slide and make the table portable with folding legs then add a set of recliners into the slide. We figure with just the two of us we can just put the table on the open floor and use it there and the chairs will store between the slides when travelling. The price difference of $3000 really drove our choice. We have a 2007 GMC sierra 2500HD Duramax which I believe will be plenty of truck for this unit. I will be using a Anderson 3220 connected to a Curt Gooseneck hitch. Two concerns we have in going to the 5th wheel is we travel with 2 larger dogs. The plan right now is to give them a nice bedding area in the trailer just inside the door. I am afraid to put them in the bed in front of the trailer and we dont want them inside the truck. We also travel with 2 10ft kayaks. I have been told they will fit in the walkway for the bedroom. I did some measurments and they will stack there but I will have to see how they travel. I may end up adding a rear bumper unit to tansport them vertically. Anyone with ideas or modifications you have made Id love to hear from.
