2 into 1 sewer mod
One of the things I really don’t like about our FR 8289WS is the fact that there are two sewer dump connections.
My neighbor here at the campground suggested that I use couplers and ABS pipe to link them together. This would allow me to leave it that way permanently and hook up only one hose when I set up.
Has anyone done this to their rig? Should I really do it? It looks like the connections aren’t level, with one lower than the other. Will that be a problem?
Thanks!

I would think one connection lower than the other would be a good thing. You already have slope built into the plumbing. Have the lower one be downstream.
I have not done this nor do I have 2 sewer connections, it just seems to make sense to me.

Yes, people have done this. Do some searching using the search field.
Usually the two connections are on opposite sides of the axles, which makes it more difficult, and is why the factory doesn't usually hook them together.
Yours appear to be just a few feet apart, which makes me wonder why they weren't hooked together from the factory.
Also, looking at your floor plan, it would appear to me that the front one is a black tank and the rear one is a grey tank. Usually the grey tank is a smaller line than the black, with the grey being tied into the black at the connection. See pic of mine below.

Our 2019 FR Vibe 268RKS also has two 'sewer' hookups... but being that it's a rear kitchen and the 'bathroom' is in the middle, it's a long run for sure. The rear connections is only for grey but still an independent connection. I have two hoses going out to the sewer pipe with a Y pipe connecting both of them to the one outlet going into the ground pipe.

Simple to change, and many people do it. A sample is shown below, but there are many different variations and configurations for with and without valves.

that would be a easy mod just do it after the valves not before . since there so close together it would be very simple

Sewer
Make sure you have plenty of ground clearance before connecting. I sometimes, -many times question why FR does certain things. Usually to save a few cents.

X2. I only have 9" to the bottom of mine, as seen in Post #3. Wish it were a bit higher.

My outlets on my Flagstaff 8529IKBS are exactly like yours.
Here's what I do...

I don't see the need for 2. The black must stay closed unless dumping. Just move the hose back and forth as needed. Pretty simple really. If you are in a permanent site that would be different. you don't need to store the extra pipe and fittings.

Did you make the short “arms” it buy them that way?

I made them by cutting a hose and adding fittings.
I have since seen even shorter, pre-made ones at Campers World.

I totally agree. I have had both a motorhome and a camper with 2 black tank drains and concocted 2 very elaborate designs to drain both into 1 sewer pipe. After a number of years, I came to the conclusion as stated above: all that you need to do is to move the hose back and forth to empty the 2 tanks. It really is that simple.

While it is simple to move the hose... during an extended stay (we were just 3 months in FL) where you dump the galley and the grey tank often, it is way easier to have both outlets connected and then even more simply, just pull the handles when necessary.

That would probably work, but it’s not ideal for us. We like to keep the grey tanks open and dump the black when needed.

Tanks
Leaving gray open if at long stay OK. I like to have grey fairly full to dump after dumping black to rinse hose. We have 2 grey and all our valves are under slides. So I have to close trailer up or climb on the ground. Next trailer will be different. We looked at a 5 th. wheel that had electric valves, not sure if that is a good thing or something else to go bad.

We do the same with our Rockwood 5er but I’ve found that part of the effluent goes back up the other hose so I use a twist on cap on the other side of the wye fitting.

If you're going to leave the gray valve open, I'd suggest making your hose dip enough to make a P-Trap that holds liquid before putting it on the hose support. This will prevent you from getting sewer gases working their way back up into your camper through the shower and sink drains. More importantly, it will prevent the little sewer gnats from coming in and setting up camp in your gray tank as well. If you get them in there, their nearly impossible to get rid of until winter freezes them.
