2018 2509S Mods

We bought a 2018 2509S in May, have taken three short trips in it so far. Only very minor issues to correct which we will do at the end of the camping season.

I wired in a power bar with a power switch on the wall next to the outside fridge so it doesn't run when the AC current is on. Just pulled the plug on the fridge, put a couple screws into the plywood to the side of the fridge to hang the power bar from.

We added a surge tank to the water system by moving the water filter towards the inside of the trailer cabinet and setting the tank next to the pump. We love getting a little water without running the pump.

We have a 165 Watt solar panel and a Renogy MPPT controller that we use hooked to the battery. We chose not to use the ZAMP connector because of the additional length of cable involved.

We wired in a 12 Volt DC power socket behind the TV set to run an inverter to power the TV when not hooked to AC power. There is a 12 gauge wire behind the microwave oven that only powers the TV antenna amplifier. We spliced in to that and hung the connector outside the cabinet.

We also bought some of that silver bubble foil insulation that we put in the west facing windows during storage in our driveway. It really cuts down the heat. We also cut a piece for the skylight in the shower and attach it using Velcro. Significant heat reduction in the bath.
