Adding windows to side of slideout

We have a Wildwood xlite 263bhxl. on the newer model year, the side of the slides has windows. Has anyone done this before? The side of the slides are fiberglass. I'm guessing there's no framing in it given it's a fairly small area.

Seems just a matter of cutting the right size hole in the fiberglass sides.

I've attached photos of what the newer ones look like.

Wonder if a stud finder might answer your question?

So it looks like there shouldn't be any studs in there according to a local RV repair place. I contacted FR and found out the window is 24"x20", 1/18" thick on the northwest region build. But they warned the sidewall on my west build might be different.

Any ideas to find the thickness other than drilling a small hole? Do you think they would actually use different thickness fiberglass panels on these Wildwoods?

I'll continue to document this and post pictures of my progress.

The last thing I would do to our slides is try to put a window in. We have had enough issues with our slides the way they came from the factory.
Get a new camper if you need that window.

Windows in slides

I love the idea of adding windows to the slide, but my BF reminded me that it would just mean more places I'd have to add curtains to keep out the light.

Yup, but going with the original size, they also have matching curtain and valence on the inside. Should look pretty stock.

I have added windows to many Van's, the window frame adds structure to wall, sounds like a great idea!

I ordered the 2 windows which were not cheap! Unfortunately, the side walls were not the same thickness as the FR windows so I had to get custom made ones. 4-6 weeks. Ugh, I hate waiting!
