Anyone replace this exterior light- seeking options

The exterior light on the front of my Mini Lite 2508 no longer works. The light actucally only worked for a few months after it was new, and as time progressed the function and reliability of the light diminished.

The light that no longer works has an on/off switch

I am looking for options for a good replacement that also offers an on/off switch.
I can replace with the same light, but am hesitant because of how short lived the light lasted that no longer works.

Any feedback would be helpful.

many options, this one looks like some i've seen recently. Check out eTrailer, they have a decent selection of lights.

From what I can see from your photo, it looks like this light, and whatever replacement you get, is facing forward. This subjects the light to the maximum grit and water of any exterior light. I would make sure to seal it with as much silicone as possible to help it in the future.

Just saying.

I have the same light on my rig. It is an OPTRONICS, Part # RVPLL13CBP. They are available at etrailer.com, Walmart and Amazon from $9.39, $14.60 and $8.99 respectively. I might add than my light is sealed around the periphery with clear Pro-Seal RV, and I haven't had any water intrusion in the light assembly. I don't see a whole lot of caulking around the light in your pic to compensate for the uneven surface of the aluminum diamond plate.

I cleaned my lights switch on mine with CRC quick-dry electronic cleaner spray and it solved the issue without replacing.

My docking light has also recently failed - some simple testing shows the switch as the component no longer in spec (take the cover off, then jump across the switch - your light should power on). I suspect that the fixture is not properly sealed against weather, and the fact that the unit is foward facing (into the weather as it’s being towed) is exacerbating the issue.

I was hoping to clean/replace the switch (it’s easy to access/isolate), but DW’s id of the part number (and a reliable source for replacement) provides a good alternative if cleaning with Velosprout’s CRC quick-dry electronic cleaner spray doesn’t work.

Just my.02, hope this helps.

Why can't you replace the switch?

I agree with try cleaning the switch with contact cleaner. Also change the light bulb with a brighter led bulb, it makes a big difference.

Unless the switch is replaced with a weatherproof marine type it will continue to be a problem unless one never travels in the rain.

I replaced that light several times before getting fed up with it and installing marine-grade below the water line rated lights.

Definitely on my honey-do list. I never really used the docking light, but now that my switch has given up, it's bothering me.

Of course, I'm also interested in adding a LOT more LED floods all the way around, but that will likely never happen, so maybe I'll just follow 01tundra's footsteps...

You should think about changing it to a motion detection light.. You cam either use it as a regular light or a motion sensor. Great when you're out camping!

I did get the yellow lense, it was a little too bright with the clear lens.

Works when it wants to. I'm sure it's in the switch below. Sprayed some contact cleaner and worked the switch several times. Ok 2 yrs since. Borrowed time I guess. The switch is subject to road spray do to it's location and not a totally sealed rocker switch.

I bought a bunch of 99 cent lights at harbor freight ..

magnet on the back and a hanging hook ..... about the size of a bar of soap

keep them in various places in back of truck , in the pass through, inside kitchen drawer ... and more.

great for hitching in the dark or changing a tire...
