Awning light controller

Just removed the IR controller and replaced it with an RF. So much handier as the IR eye was behind the door and blocked when the door was opened. Built an alum box to cover it and sealed it at the top. Don't pay any attention to the filthy awning, it has to be cleaned one of these days when we pull the trailer out away from the trees. Hook on the end of support is for the end sunshade, have one on both ends.

My RF controller is sitting in my "To Do" drawer.

Welcome to the wonderful world of RF.

The aluminum box may reduce the receiver signal some, but mine are very sensitive and inside, but still have great range.

IMO, far better than the IR line of sight controllers.

It works all along the side of the trailer and that's all I'm concerned with. My lights are on a dusk to dawn eye, so all I use the controller for is changing colors.

Just unplugged the IR controller, tinned the wire ends and wired in the RF controller.

I'm sorry for my ignorance.....so you just cut off the plug at the end of the lights and wired it in to the controller? I have a 16ft extension running from my front basement compartment and up the awning rail.

That's what I did. The power to my controller is routed with the awning power out of the basement thru the side and up the awning mounting channel.
