Awning over outside kitchen

I would like to ad an awning over my outside kitchen.

Have any of you done this?

Since it's not always going to be in use would manual be the way to go?

Thanks!
Db

Speaking for myself here but I find the the flip up o.k. door adequate for rain protection.
With that said there's not enough room for awning arms and I'd hate to always have to be ducking my head around arms on a manual awning.
You didn't even mention year, make or model of camper.

The flip up door on ours is enough for me.

Don't know why a simple pull down window awning like on a mh wouldn't work. No arms to contend with.

I can see where Brownie is coming from. On our old Puma 30kfbds the flip up door did provide enough sun protection, but when it started to rain, the water would end up INSIDE the kitchen from the hinge and drip down. Nobody likes water damage...

Last weekend water poured into the kitchen, my buddy next door had a awning over his and I thought why not.

Used the outdoor kitchen in our tracer 3150 all last season. After a wet month at the nj shore & a week in August at Disney, I knew what the kitchen needed. AN AWNING. So over the winter our dealer had some things to fix for us so we had them put on a matching awning. We did it for the sun as much as the rain.
We also added oversize grab bars. It is helpful for when the parents & in laws join us. Click image for larger version

That's an interesting idea, I do have a rain gutter above it similar to the roof one...
