Battery Box Straps

Hey, Wondering if anyone has come up with an alternative to those traditional straps that go around the battery boxes. Ideally I'd like a locking option given battery thefts are on the rise. Thanks!

More than one member has ditched the plastic battery box for a locking metal box. Measure your battery/batteries and look at Tractor Supply.

TorkLift's PowerArmor boxes are expensive but very well-designed.

My box has 2 big knobs that hold it on. The nice thing is the GC batts are so snug an deep enough in that box, there's no room for hands to pull batts out. if you don't have a battery strap, you're not getting them out!

Having lost a plastic battery box cover (long dual box with single strap) in Western winds, I installed 2 of those nylon straps. Still lost the 2nd cover in the wind.

Made a new cover of 1/4" plywood with 1x2 stock around the perimeter so that the cover fit over the edges of the box. Put screw eyes into the 1x2 and used 2 bungees around the box support frame back to the screw eyes on the other side. Bungees always held, and were much easier to release than those **** nylon straps.

Not a locking solution, but..... On our 2nd A-frame, I requested a dual battery box be installed by dealer - I would supply batteries. He put in a steel locking box - not what I had in mind, but certainly acceptable. We both had had difficulties locating a plastic dual battery box that fit the tongue A-frame. He charged me $40 instead of the actual $200 cost of the steel box.

Back when we had the issue, and before mounting them inside a "truck box", we swapped out the ones that came with it for a buckle, similar, but not necessarily these:
