Can I borrow 12 volt power from gas detector?

I am installing 3 LED light segments in the pantry of our Surveyor 191T.
I found a 12 volt source in the adjacent under seat compartment where the gas detector is located. The amp draw from the LED strips is very minimal.
Can anyone see a reason this can't be done?

I would pull fuses until the detector shuts off and see what else is on that circuit. Then make a determination.
