Changing shower enclosure?

When we changed rigs, we ended up with a 1-piece fiberglass enclosure. The problem is partly how Spartan designed it- they put the bench/seat where the opening is (between the pantry and sink) vs. behind the area where the sink is.

But more so, the size of the seat/bench is huge and really feels intrusive to the shower itself. We feel cramped in this one vs. our old 2-piece plastic shower.

While I feel it's likely unreasonable to switch out- wife asked, so I ask. Has anyone ever gone nutty and replaced their shower enclosure?
