Control Panel

Hello,
Has anyone come up with a good way to cover the bright blue LED switch lights on the control panel? I've thought about building a cabinet door, but I think it might stick out too much.
I'm just looking to cover up the top part of the KIB Monitor Panel...

They light because you need to know if they are on or off.
Such as the switch for the water heater left on with no water hooked up or low water in the tank will burn up the element.

If you put a cover over it you will have possible an issue not seeing they are on so you are defeating the purpose of the light telling you it is on.

If you still want to cover them I'd suggest draping some leatherette material over them from the top.

That is the best I can suggest other than replacing them with switched that do not light but then you must always look to see if you left them on or off closely.

Just cut a piece of black electricians tape to cover 90% of the switch. That way you have a little light still showing so you can see the condition of the circuit.

Thanks,
I always double check that all the switches are off anyway... iits just that they are so bright and it glares into our bedroom at night. I've thought about a dark tinted plexiglass, but haven't come up with a good way to attach it...
Thanks again

Thanks,
I've considerd this, but the panel is directly across from the entry door glass and I fear the heat would just make mess of the tape.
Thanks again.

In my previous fifth wheel it was in a cabinet. You could just frame it out and attached a door with hinges on it.

The new rig it’s in a cabinet as well, but it’s also the new OneControl touch panel.

They are bright! In recent years “blue” has become some sort of new norm for electronics. Always a pet peeve of mine. Why not red??? I don’t have an issue with mine as they don’t shine into my bedroom. I consider them a night light. Although i shut off the water tank heaters when not in use. But i agree, hate the blue. Red would be less night vision intrusive!

My control panel is inside of a false cabinet. It looks just like any other cabinet door in my trailer but open it up and there's the control panel just behind the door. We've never had a problem accidentally leaving anything on because we are just in the habit of always opening the door and looking.

Why not just replace the switches with ones that either do not light up or ones with a red light.

Pull the panel off the wall and take one of the switches out. Done unplug all the switches just one there should be 3 wires ( 2 pos for the control and one negantive for the light) on each switch. Then on the top and bottom of the switch(most likely) on the backside there will be two retainer tabs. Take a small screw driver and push on the tabs and you should be able to push the switch out the front of the panel.

Take picture of the part numbers and manufacture and I will see what I can find

Those switches are available everywhere. An RV shop should have them, as well as most electrical supply stores. Or, if you are close to Saco, ME, I have a few in my spare parts box.

This is true. Was going to find the exact switch in red so it matched.
