Converting 110 light fixtures to 12 volt

DW would like to change some of the lighting fixtures in the RV and can’t find any 12 volt light fixtures she likes although there are several 110 fixtures she likes. Will the 110 fixtures work as is or there a way to convert them?

120V fixtures can easily be converted to 12V with the proper bulb, either LED or incandescent. Just observe the proper polarity when wiring them in. I replaced the 12V light over the dining room table which was equipped with 921 incandescent bulbs. Use these for better lighting:

Used the push button switch from the old fixture.

I'm a little confused.
Do you want to convert the fixtures from 12 VDC to 120 VAC?
Or just replace them with 120 VDC lights?
You may need to redo the wiring.
I'd stick with the 12 vdc and find some DW likes.

DW has the correct answer.

120VAC fixtures, as long as they don't already contain the lamp itself nor any electronics for dimming/switching, can be used in 12VDC applications w/o issue.

What's needed is 12VDC lamps to fit the socket in the fixture. In the case of the ES (Edison Screwbase) type lamps typically used in 120VAC applications, DW provided a link to LED lamps powered by 12VDC.

Before purchasing any 120VAC fixture with a socket other than the ES type, verify you can find 12VDC lamps for those fixtures. If so, have fun exploring!

I want to take a 110 standard house fixture and use it my RV to replace the 12 volt fixtures I have now.

Don't forget...

Don't forget that polarity matters with LED lamps. It should work if you connect white-to-white, black-to-the-other-color. If the light doesn't work, swap the two wires.
