I thought the same thing Forbes! The middle back piece was stored in that space for shipment. I saw one recliner that had a drawer there. I was trying to figure out how to cut it without ruining the material. Please post pics and instructions when you figure it out.

I had an upholstery man come by and he is going to help me cut and tuck the material, he said he could sew a peace in and tuck it under the top and along the sides. I am going out of town for a couple of days but plain to do the work late next week will keep you posted.

you could order (purchase) the tables that raise/lower instead of the table you have. the eat in your chairs or as a coffee table level.

I think that is the winning modification, in particular for seniors wanting a more mobile RV, but not wanting to be in a class B. The mental jump to remove the dinette opens up a lot of creativity if one doesn't need a working table or guest option.

Really need a comfortable recliner.

Late to the party. The couch looks great question, where did the couch come from? And how did you get through the 24" door opening?

I ordered it online. It was delivered to my home. It comes with the backs off of it and fit easily through the door. Not super heavy (my son helped) but a little awkward. When I went furniture shopping I was pleased to see that almost all the loveseats and recliners came apart easily so they could fit through doors.

To answer another persons question....It did "walk" while we were traveling so I will have to attach it to the floor some way. I haven't decided how yet but it shouldn't be too hard to figure something out.

Raised slide

We were told by the salesman that our couch in a 21fbrs microlite could not be replaced with recliners due to it being a raised slide. It looks like your slide is raised too. Any problems now that you have tested the modification ??

Nice job medic1
We had the dinette in our 24s replaced with a 68" flexsteel sofa sleeper.

Were the recliners Forest River, designed for RV or can you use any recliner? We are thinking of replacing the couch in our Roo 21SS with recliners.

Are the rotating Ford drivers and passenger seats standard, did you add them, where did you get them ?

Changed out ours as well!

Couldn't stand the bench seating around the table, very uncomfortable....before and after pictures, this is much better!

I'm looking at the same issue. Been looking at couches between 80"-88" to replace my dinette with. Can you get normal couches in the door of travel trailers?

I'm not sure about getting a "normal" size couch through the door. The chairs I put in mine where easy because the backs came off.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but with the backs off the recliners I turned the base sideways and was able to get them through the door pretty easily. If I remember correctly, the backs were just held in place with a "snap in" type bracket. I'm thinking this is a pretty common on most chairs.
One thing though, we did look for and buy a what's considered "small" recliners vs full size.
