Dometic AC control panel upgrade???

Have one of those. Does anyone know if there is an upgrade available for digital controlls? Would like my AC to turn off when a temperature is reached. Getting tired of the fan running constantly.

I had asked this question a few months before and the short answer was no.

Search some I believe on modmyrv.com I think that's where I found a write up on how to bypass those controls and instead control it with a wall mounted digital thermostat that will also control your heater. That's what I plan to do when time permits.

I looked at the modmyrv.com site and didn't find anything for the non ducted ceiling controls.

So if I read right as I glanced thru the thread, he installed the relay in the wfco or other distribution center.

Since my unit is 30 amp I had to add a second breaker box in my 5th wheel basement for the second a/c.

in reality he's just cutting power to the whole unit via the thermostat and relay.

Glenn glurzick I'm goin to need your help on this one.

Need to mount thermostat on wall.

Run thermostat wire "2 wire because there needs to be a signal wire and a 12v wire since I have nothing now" to basement and over to new breaker box.

Install relay.

One wire from thermostat
One 12v ground
110v wire in and out.

I think i confused myself but I think i know what needs to be done.

I " think" what i need to do is actually mount the relay in the a/c since I only want to cut the power to the compresser - ish

I want the fan to work like the ducted model "auto" and "on"

Hopefully glenn can give me some insight on how to do that.

I'll run down a wiring diagram for the non ducted unit.

Now this has re-peaked my interest in hooking this up.. I would prob do like you, Turbs, find a way to kill the compressor only to keep circulation going.

That's my plan as well.
We like the fan noise "fan in on position" and constant air circulation when in bed.

But during the day I'd like the compresser to cut out as well as the fan "auto position"

I'm confident it's possible.

Maybe just need two relays?

As far as the op goes the mod link that was posted would be perfect for him.

I am sure it is possible. I would just be happy with it running the compressor only when needed. The auto and constant on would be a bonus.. I agree we like the noise to drown out the "restless natives" at times when the little one is trying to sleep. It's good white noise.

I posed the question to our resident hvac resident "glenn" in a pm along with this thread location.
We'll see what he has to say.

I will be interested to hear... I already have scoped out where to run the extra wire to the thermostat.

Glenn pointed me to a contact for this and I've emailed him with no response as of yet.

I'll post any information I can find.
I have been scouring the Web with little "like" results.

I realize you may already be prewired for a second a/c but just in case.
