The "Hott Rod" is not worth the hassle, IMO.

The anode is TINY compared to the correctly sized OEM unit.

Therefore it will need to be replaced far more often and the entire unit will need to be replaced when you do.

The Hott Rod costs between 88 and 125 bucks depending on source, vs 9 bucks or so for the OEM rod just about anywhere.

I used the camco Hybrid Heat in my 6 gallon Suburban that is gas only. Works great, used it for 3 seasons so far, about to start a fourth. I posted a small write-up at the time with some pics: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ad.php?t=60544
