Entry Door

Hi all I have just purchased the Morryde step above entry steps. The problem I am having is, there is not enough clearance at the bottom of the door to allow it to shut when the steps are out. Does anyone have any idea the best way to alter or raise this door. This is on a Coachman Freedom Express 223RBS. 2014 Thanks.

They have adjusters for the legs that contact the ground, right? If they’re not adjusted low enough the hinge plate won’t allow the door to close. Easy fix?

It’s nothing to do with the legs. The hinge plate is flat as it can go on the threshold

Would it be possible to remove the existing sill plate and replace with something thinner. Just looked at our sill plate and if I had the same issue I could remove sill plate and replace with thin walled aluminum angle. Maybe post a pic, easier to science out a fix if it can be seen.

Yes, I can’t imagine raising the door would be an option. Adjustable door sweep? Pics would be helpful.

Entry door

Thanks all for your replies. I had a real good look at this today and noticed that there was quite a cap at the top of the door, enough to get all my fingers in there.
So my plan was just to raise the door up 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. After getting the door off noticed that there were only 4 screws holding the bottom trim of the door on. Plus a little bit of sealant. So I took that off cut a 1/4” of the bottom of the door and side trims and put it back together. Closes like a charm now.
Now to try and get the screen door to fit. Now that will be different as the new steps closing system interferes with it and just no room to move it. May just forget a screen door. 😳😳😳

Yep, sometimes you just have to improvise. Sounds like you’re kinda handy. That’s definitely a prerequisite for rv ownership! Happy camping!

Might be able to trim the bottom of the screen door.
