Fantastic Fan vs vent cover

I just installed a Fantastic Fan (7350 with remote) along with the Fantastic Vent cover. When I raise the fan cover it will hit the vent cover prior to reaching the maximum open position. It seems like the motor stops automatically but I'm curious if this is normal.

The mfgr is closed on weekends so I cannot get any info from them.

Here is the cover the dealer installed when our fantastic fan was installed. It is a very close fit. In fact I removed it at one point thinking it was hitting.

I just installed a Fantastic vent fan along with a Fantastic fan cover. Looking on their web site and description of the cover, it is the only cover recommended by Fantastic.

My fan does not shut off automatically at a set temperature, possibly yours is getting to that temperature and turning off, like it's supposed to?

I'm very happy with my fan and cover. I see no difference in the amount of air the fan moves with the cover on or off.

Update: talked to Fantastic Fan support and all is good. They said when the cover encounters any resistance (like touching the cover) the motor automatically disconnects. They explained it's that way to allow placing just about any cover over it.

Yes we discussed this a year ago, if the lid hits something before full travel it will stop.

He's talking about the motor that opens the vent cover shutting off, not the fan motor. It shuts off if the cover hits an obstacle, to protect itself.
