Finally replaced outside table

We finally replaced the particle board table that hangs on the outside of our TT. DH made it from quarter-sawn white oak, with walnut and mahogany stripes. He put a wiping finish on it - made out of boiled linseed oil, a bit of polyurethane and mineral spirits. So it isn't a "hard finish" and can easily be renewed by wiping on another coat. Water beads right up on it. We made it 18" by 15" (the original was 15"x15") and used the hardware from the original table. Amazing how the original swelled up after being in one rainstorm. "Our" next mods will be a wooden top to replace the accordion fold metal on our stove, and an igniter for the oven. The "clicker" one for the stove top doesn't work anymore, so we'll replace that one too. Weather is FINALLY nice enough for camping, although our trip last week next to Lake Michigan required long johns, hats and mittens! Today though.....80 degrees. Go figure!! Happy camping everyone. Back to the wood shop for me.

Look's like John has over done it again. It is a very nice looking table.

Great looking table. I love the walnut and mahogany accent stripes! Only problem I see is that the bottles look a little low .

That is one great-looking table top! Good job. What else have you done that you can share?

LOL! We found these at a craft show. They seem to be all the rage right now. Lamps made from your favorite bottle. They really add a nice glow at night.
