Folding Murphy bed matress replacement

We bought a new Salem FSX 179dbk 2020 a few weeks ago. We were surprised when we investigated the Murphy bed matress that the matress is actually 2 pieces. Most of the matress is in one piece but at the fold for the Murphy bed the top of the matress continues but undernieth it is a separate section that is about 12-18 inches wide.

Is this typical for Murphy mattresses? It is an RV queen. If we decide to upgrade the matress will we need to buy something special for it to fold correctly? If so, anyone have links to acceptable mattresses that will not interfere with the bed folding up?

Unfortunately, I have no answer for you. We are looking at the 179dbk and I was wondering how you like it. Based on the date of your original post, I'm hoping you've had some time to enjoy it.
