frame ground

I'm in the middle of wiring up a solar system. I could use some help. I need to reroute the trailer negative wire to the shunt. Can I just run a separate frame ground straight from the battery, or does it have to incorporate the wire from the converter box?

Thanks.

The easiest way to install a shunt is to move all wires from the negative terminal of your battery to one side of the shunt and install a new cable from the battery negative terminal to the other side of the shunt. You can find a schematic on page 7 of the Bogart Engineering Trimetric 2030 monitor manual located here.
