Furnace protection from Mud dauber nests

We all know about the little screens you can use to keep mud daubers out of your furnace, but I had a problem with mine and came up with a simple solution.

This issue was that the little springs intended to hold the screens in place can slip off or get pulled off by bushes as you back into or pull out of your space. I nearly lost mine twice as I was pulling into my space at home due to a hedge.

Solution a small stainless steel bolt and some locktite seems to have solved the issue. The top one had a hole but he bottom one required drilling a small hole. See picture.

Sweet! I've had mine slip, also. This should do the trick.
