Furrion 7" Monitor Mounting

I have the Furrion 7" Monitor and am looking for a Better way to Mount it in My Truck. How have you Mounted Yours ? Or have You seen a Better than Stock way to Mount it. My Need is to get it Closer. I Currently have it Mounted to a Built Rite Plate That is Made for My Dash, but it's to far Forward . I have been in Contact with Ram Mounts and They can't Help or are to Busy to Help. Any Ideas? Thank You O Great Minds of FR.

Haloview Mirror Mount

Haloview has an over the rear-view mirror mount straps, works really slick. See this link, post 34 for a couple of pictures.

I have my Haloview mounted on the Built Right dash mount and really like it there. I'm using a ball on the mount and on the back of the monitor and a 6" double socket arm. Before this I hung a ball behind my rearview mirror and had my 4UCam monitor there but I felt it was taking up too much of my windshield view particularly when I was turn right.

What's not working for you? I'm not understanding the too far forward part of your statement I guess.

Grege. That is Exactly what I am Looking for . What is Holding your Monitor? My Setup has my Monitor Just above the Radio. I guess I should have said I need the Monitor Closer to Me .

This is the Response from Ram Mounts.

Hello John.

Thank you for contacting us and our apologies for the delay in responding. Unfortunately the Furrion monitors use a proprietary mounting system that is not compatible with our products. The ball bases are too small to work with our B size components, and our A size components have a smaller diameter and wouldn't be able to support the weight of anything heavier than a cell phone, especially in those environments. Our apologies that we couldn't be of more assistance with finding a solution for you. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if we can assist with anything else.

The Haloview monitor has a slot on the back so I have a ball mounted on it.

Sounds like the Furrion doesn't have that slot so you would have to figure out how to get a ball on there. What does the back of the monitor look like?

This is the back of the 4UCam monitor I stopped using so you can see what the slot might look like.

I like the rear view mirror mount, puts screen right where you instinctively look. They sell a mirror mount pretty cheap that replaced my home-brew setup.

***posted too quickly, saw you have Furrion. I bought the half priced Haloview 7" system. Either way, if you can get it up on the mirror, it's the best place.

It looks like a RAM mount x-grip with a 4-5" extension. That's connected to a RAM ball base.

That's the X-Grip Large Phone Holder with Ball that I use to hold my phone when not pulling the camper. I modified it to add a Tozo W3 wireless charger. It works great.

Looks Good Grege. I love Modifications. I'm going to Order about 20 different Mounts from Amazon and Send Back what I don't use. Not Really. I'm going to have to Modify One of the 2 Mounts I received with the Furrion to work with the Ram Mount System. I had a Slew of Ram Parts from My Motorcycle days but gave them all away. I Better break out the Dremel and Gorilla Glue. I'll post Photo's of Before and After when I am done. I thank you all for your Comments and Ideals. I love this Place.

Post a picture of the back of your monitor and I can see what I might do. If you want another opinion.

I just use a couple of woman's hair bungees to hold my 7" Haloview on my rear view mirror. I have the bungees under the Haloview sun shade. I have driven about 6k miles with this setup without issue. I figure that hanging it on the mirror puts it in the most natural location.

I’ve been looking for a way to mount our Furrion in our F-250. I used a cell phone type mount in our F-150 that fit in the CD slot. Our F-250 does not have one. What I am going to try is using the windshield mount and a Amazon’s generic beanbag GPS mount. It will fit in the well on the dash. I’m not sure if the tilt will be correct, so may need to put something under the beanbag to tilt it.

Have you seen the Built Right dash mount for the Ford dash? That's what I use and love it.
