Generator

I have a 2200W gas generator that I use to run just my home furnace in case of power outage. I’m wondering about using it for the TT if I have no power hookups. What can I expect to run off of it? Refrigerator, furnace, TV etc.

A 15 amp breaker is 1800 watts.
A hair dryer or coffee maker typically are at about 1500 watts, the same for a small electric heater.
Check your appliance manual for how many watts it uses.

Hopefully your generator is an inverter generator which is quiet and produces clean power better suited for sensitive electronics. The link below will give you some basic power requirements for RV appliances.

Another possibility is your AC! If you have a high-quality generator (like a Honda), and your AC is NOT bigger than 15K, it can probably run your AC too. You might want to check out the "Micro-Air Easy Start Install" thread (about the 30th thread in this forum). That thread is about a device that makes it easier for generators to start the AC and enables more generators to do it and at more extreme conditions (elevation and temps). You would need to balance your load (e.g. unplug stuff) to avoid overloads, but it can definitely be done. Good luck.

yes you can run your Refrigerator, furnace , tv, converter , microwave , once you add higher draws you may have to shut a few things off for others to run . AC maybe

it would be just like plugging into a regular household outlet...it will probably power anything you wish, even a roof air conditioner, at least by itself...

the question is really how many things you may be able to power 'at the same time'...
that's when you trip the generator's breaker - then you'll know : )
