Getting The Factory TV Mount To Fit A 40” TV

Bought a Grey Wolf 29TE, our previous camper was a pop up. So naturally we bought the biggest TV to fit the space. Problem is, the mount provided that fits the base in the living room and under the awning would not fit the TV mounting holes. So I spent about $6.00 at Menard’s and fixed it.

Had to buy a piece of welding steel and four longer M6 screws to screw into the TV. I already had four 8-32 machine screws, nuts and washers at the house. I used a bandsaw to cut the metal, but a hacksaw would work fine. Also used the blue thread lock on everything. Took about two hours total.

I was worried that the 40” TV may be too tall and I would have to lower the wall mount, but it slid in with about 1/8” to spare.

That’s a great idea. I was thinking along that same idea when we buy a TV and if we run into that problem. Nice job.

As a bonus, the Vizio TV makes it easy to screen mirror an IPhone. We can download a few movies on the Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ and always have something to watch with no satellite or DVD player.

Just as an FYI for anyone finding this later, there are several adapter plate options on Amazon to make your larger VESA pattern holes work with the small Paw mount included with your camper. Most under $15, and many around $10.
