handicap lift

Does anyone know the aproximate cost to install a handicap seat lift for a A class motor home. It looks to be a 3 or 4 hour job and I am getting a dealer quote of 2000.00 just for installation. Thanks jerry

You don't give any info about your location, about your RV (except that it's a class A) or about the particular seat you're installing.

2 grand, may be perfectly within reason or it may be completely out of the ballpark. I'd think it may be closer to within reason than you think.

Provide some more details and we may be able to narrow it down a little better.

Its a 2007 Damon intruder 36 ft. Am inquiring about a Handi-lift seat lift. Handi-lift says 3 to 4 hours to install. I am in Idaho just outside of Boise. 2000 is 2 men at 125.00 an hour for 8 hours, seems a bit high. Thanks

$125/hr is a pretty standard RV shop rate.

Get a second quote. I called around to get quotes for my Samlex Inverter/Charger install. I needed an inverter for my CPAP.

A lot of RV shops do custom work.

Given the info, I'd have to agree that the quote is about double what I'd suspect. Almost sounds like that dealer doesn't really want to fool with it.

I think I'd check a few places around your area. In Boise there should be several to choose from. Even check with some mobile repair shops to see if they'll give you a quote.

Does the Handi-Lift manufacturer have a list of preferred dealers or installers who have installed their product and know how to do it and how long it really takes?

Sounds to me like the quote you got is a CYA worst case scenario from somebody who has never installed the product and doesn;t want to get burned on their first one.
