Hitch receiver for hitch storage/bike rack

I came across this item online, but unfortunately this Reese item seems to be sold in Australia only. Has anyone seen anything similar that I can get here?

https://www.huntsmanproducts.com.au/...ers-941000-aus

I was looking for an easy way to carry my bike rack on the unused JackIt mount on the tongue of my trailer. A receiver like this one, clamped to the JackIt frame vertically, looks like it would carry our empty bike rack nicely. Right now both Lectric Ebikes and the rack get carried in the bed of the truck. It would be a lot nicer to be able to carry the rack elsewhere.

The only other options are a front receiver on the truck, which hangs way too low for my tastes. Or a trailer bumper mounted hitch. Even though I want to carry the rack empty, it's still 52 lbs. (Kuat NV2.0), perhaps too much for my flimsy bumper that already carries the spare tire?

Any thoughts or opinions welcome!

Looks the same as this. A fair amount of posts here with the same thing made. I not clever enough to come up with the idea.

Ahhh, thanks! That's close, and might work, and be stronger.

I got something similar a few years back from harbor freight tools.

Just be careful - Those e-bikes are 65lbs+ each. That's an additional 130lbs you plan to be putting on your tongue weight which may overload your tongue weight capacity and end up pushing your vehicle into a dangerous situation.

The original Jack-It system has a max capacity of 25lbs worth of bikes on it to keep the weight capacity on the tongue to a minimum.

I can't tell you how many people I've spoken to who think their vehicle can safely tow their trailer as it's within their weight capacity - never once looking at the tongue-weight capacity and realizing they're several hundred pounds over. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

My F150 has a 1000lb tongue weight capacity. My trailer sits at a hair under 500lbs with NOTHING on the tongue. Add dual 6v batteries pushes the tongue weight to 620lbs. Then add the dual-20lb propane tanks brings it up to 680lbs. Then add my power jack and I'm sitting at around 700lbs on my tongue and that's not including my hitch and WD bars. Putting those e-bikes on the tongue would push that fairly close to the max safety range.

I appreciate the info. I'm well aware of watching limits, and indeed the ebikes are heavy. The bikes ride in the truck bed while towing. I was looking to carry my empty Kuat bike rack on the JackIt base, for later use at our destinations.

From what I could find, the Jackt has a capacity of 80 lbs, and the Kuat I want to carry is 52 lbs. So it seems like it should be ok, weight wise. The Kuat actually fits pretty nicely hanging on the JackIt like it was a bike, but would need to be strapped on to the pegs somehow, and it's higher than necessary. I figured something that holds the Kuat by the hitch point like it's supposed to be carried might be best. For now, the Kuat goes in the truck bed too, but the Tetris puzzle is getting tougher.....

Just a quick question are those actual weights, or just guessing. Those seem like full weights and unless you built the battery box directly over the hitch with propane directly on top. Not all the weight will go directly to the hitch. That said welcome to the forum I see you only have a few post

Specs for 2019 show a 2" hitch at the back. What do you have in there? I rigged up a cargo carrier and a bike rack for mine and the weight is around 200 lbs total, my hitch is good for 300lbs. Your e-bike would be heavier than my bicycle though.

My trailer didn't come with a rear bumper receiver. I considered adding the reinforcing brackets and adding a receiver, but the spare tire is likely in the way.
