kayak hauling

We place ours inside our 8280 on floor it's a ten footer could carry two, place a pillow at kitchen cabinet and on nose retract slide out and held firmly in place

I wanted ours on the floor as well to keep the center of gravity down, but unfortunately with the slide in there isn't much floor space.

We modified our maxrack and I had a friend weld the upright section that I then bolted the frame.
When not in use the arms on the section bolted the frame fold down out of the way.

I made a custom rack and I travel with the kayaks 2x 14' on the roof of the 5ther, bikes on the roof of the truck. Unhitched i can put all on the roof rack on the truck. ExtCab 6.5' bed

We used to carry ours in the roof with a goal post, then went to a toyhauler and started putting then inside in a rack I made and then decided a boat was better. Click image for larger version

i love the idea of having the kayaks on the back of the 5er but the warranty thing prevent this. i put a 2"" receiver hitch on the front of my truck abd install the thule goal post. put a single thule crossbar near rear on cab. tbe thule goal post lowers go make loading easy. all is easily removed when not in use. Works great.
