Cool! You think like me I made one about 11 years ago for the fan in our kitchen. The thermostat turns it on and off, but you cannot control the speed without a step ladder. In the bathroom, I replaced the fan with one that has a remote control.

I need one!

Badly!
I am on my way to Alaska right now and am worn out reaching for the @#$%$% thing. My right arm has stretched 6 inches longer than my left.
Please make me one and mail it to me c/o General Delivery, Chicken, Alaska.
You're a lifesaver! In return I will send you my First Born (it's a boy)...or a check if you'd rather.

I cut a PVC coupler to have notches that matched up with the sticky-outie-parts of the knob.

It’s not clean work, I did it at the campsite with a hacksaw (while entertaining guests, no less). I think a multitool/oscillating tool would have worked better.

I may spray paint it and get a big toy jewel to carry around as a scepter when it’s not in use as a vent reacher/opener.
Cute tool. We had the same issue in our toy hauler...the vent is 7 plus feet up.
Went a bit simpler with 1/2" abs conduit and use the stick to control both the OTA amplifier and the bath vent.
Best thing is my wife can operate the the stick!

Nice. Fortunately, we have remotes for our vents.

My 5th wheel came with auto open and close controls along with speed controls. I have a Cedarcreek Hathaway model. Look into new fan controls might solve your problem.
