Just a little....other projects have a way of coming out of nowhere. Like the fact that I had to remove all the seats, center console, glove box, and anything else that was holding down the carpet liner in my wife's Lexus.
Apparently these vehicles have a common theme where the AC condensate drain hose gets clogged. If that happens, the condensate water will drain into the carpets / carpet liner. You don't notice it until it's too late.
The carpet liner was absolutely soaked especially in the padded areas. You don't wan't mold to form!!
So, I took the carpet liner out, let it dry in the sun for 3 days. then reinstalled everything. NOT FUN!!!
I'll post pics of the camper progress tonight...

Yeah, well....It wasn't a pleasant job, but as far as car problems go, no brand is 100% exempt from it's flaws.
Our last 3 cars have been Lexus'. We buy them used (3 years old) and keep them for quite a few years. Personally, we love them.
This is the first "glitch" we've had to deal with in over 20 years of owning these cars.
This current one is 9 years old with just 83K miles on it, so to me I really can't complain all that much. It was a clogged drain hose....
I've even heard of people spending top dollar on their RV's and having to bring them back to the dealer for repairs soon after driving them off of the lot!! Imagine!! ..  ....

The original battery cables were mouse-chewed, so we needed new ones. I ordered 2 sets of lugs. When I opened up the Amazon box, only the cables and one set of lugs were in there. Paperwork listed both sets...
So, off to the auto parts store I went, to pick up some ring terminals, because I wanted to finish them up.
My lug crimper...
Re-connected...the circuit breaker that the lugs are attached to is new, too.
Replacing the crappy battery vent tube flange / vent was next...

Next on the list was replacing the wall outlet for the microwave, located in a closet...
3 new wires were run from the panel to the hot water heater location, as a brand new heater will be installed...
These are some drawer tracks that have to be reinstalled now that all the rotted wood has been replaced. But, they had gotten wet, in the past, and they were rusted, about halfway.
So, I bead-blasted the rust off, and sprayed some cold galvanizing spray on them.

If you go with the Suburban water heater, some (the ones with an "L" in their model number) have a 12VDC relay that switches on the 110VAC heating element upstream from the usual "outside" heating element switch. The 12VDC relay is switched on/off by a water heater switch that's usually next to the gas water heater switch. This lets you control both gas and electric from inside the trailer. Here's a pic of one way the two switches are made:
If you go with the non-L model, you just plug the heating element into a 110VAC outlet and use the normal outside switch. However, a number of us with these models have wired the 110VAC outlet to be a switched outlet and used a 110VAC switch with a pilot light to control it. So this can also allow you control both gas and electric from inside (although not usually from the same location).

I appreciate the kudos...and thank you, rockfordroo, for the insight on the H2O heater. I bought it a long time ago. Is is a Surburban heater. I'll have to check out the model # and go from there.

A little more progress....
There were these large voids inside the AC framework where the AC could just blow into the rafter area. The PO had taped cardboard over the openings.
I decided to staple some aluminum sheet metal over the openings...
Then, I replaced the metal tape in the shaft that the squirrel cage fan blows into...
Buttoned the AC unit back up...
Next, the wall that was repaired way back when needed a face lift, so stick-on subway tiles were installed...

The next job was one that I wasn't looking forward to, but had to be done....resealing the roof.
I used the 2-step Dicor System. First, the camper was masked off...
The next morning, I used a leaf blower to clean all the debris off of the roof. then, the cleaner / activator was sprayed on and allowed it to sit for a while. Then it got power washed off.
I noticed what appeared to be nail heads protruding through the rubber roof. I figured that I'd better fix this before going through all this work.
I slit the rubber, planning to hammer down the nail head, then Eternabond Tape the slit.
Well, it wasn't a nail head at all...
They were chips of aluminum from drilling . At the factory, they roofed right over these things!!
The black roof makes a mess! This pic was before the washing of the roof...
3 coats later, I now have a white roof!! Yay!!

I hadn't looked into the axles to this point. So, today was the day...
Should be enough drum to turn down, but seeing that I'm going to buy complete backing plate assemblies, I may bite the bullet and just get new drums / bearings, too...
Axle tag...AL KO axles...
And lastly, I installed a new vent cover, replaced an existing vent cover, and bought and installed a new A/C shroud....
Well, that's it for now...
