Installing Awning strip lights

We have a 2013 rockwood 25' mini lite TT. I want to install led strip lighting under the awning, I'm worried about drilling a hole and wondering where is the best spot to drill through the exterior wall to run the wiring through ? Also any suggestions as to what type to get ? We'd like the ones that just plug in to a receptacle in the trailer and work off a remote control. Locations to buy from in Ontario would be appreciated. Try boogie lights. They are expensive buy all 12 VDC. If you drill into the wall near the rear door, you can snake the wire down thru the bath wardrobe. I'm not 100% familiar on the inside. Otherwise if you go with the 120 V versions. Just mount the strip and when you set up, connect the remote and the power supply

If you get the 120v type you will most likely have to use an extension cord as the cords for the lights are about 6 ft.

I have a set that is made of 2x 14ft sections with about 20 different light sequences. It runs on a 24vac transformer on the cord with the remote sensor.

Here is what I have installed on the last two Trailers. They stick on with 3M tape. I plug them in when I setup and unplug when breaking down to go home.

The hardest part of installing these is where do you mount the sensor eye?

I got an RF controller instead and then just mounted the box in the front storage cubby. No need to worry about a sensor eye.

To the OP, I got the strips off E-Bay out of some place in China for dirt cheap, like $10.00 for a 15' roll. I got what I paid for though, as I had one point that the flexing kept breaking the contacts and I had to re-solder multiple times, however, aside from that one joint the rest of the strip has held up beautifully.

I got mine also from eBay, but I believe they’ve been spotted on Amazon too.

I bought some led lights from Walmart. They come with true 3m adhesive backing, remote and are 120v house power. We gave $16a set. One set lasted all last season so I got my $16 worth. But they're still on and still working.

90% of these 120v led stripes are 12v lit with a converter.. so check the output voltage converter to confirm, then cut the wire to get rid of the converter.. connect to a switch that provide 12v and you are good to go!
