Installing 'inspection hatch' inside RV

After spending considerable time moving stuff out of the camper to access the back of the water heater so we can de-winterize the camper (putting in new h2O filter and accessing the bypass valves), I have taken an interest in putting an inspection hatch inside the RV so we can easily access the water heater & filter. Has anyone installed a 'hatch' or access door in their RV for a similar purpose?

Below is a photo of the type of hatch I am considering.

BTW -- This would be installed on a Flagstaff M/L 23LB (same as the Rockwood 2306). My camper does not have the murphy bed.

Thanks,

I haven't done this but it sure makes sense. I don't use the water filter that came with our trailer because it's just to hard to get at. Patience has never been my strong suit. The controller board for my slide out is in a place where I can hardly see it, never mind being able to read it. Let's face it,there is a huge list of maintenance that comes with owning a trailer. The easier it is to be able to deal with , the more time there will be for relaxing in it. Yes to the access panel.

Darren,
Did you ever install the inspeaction cover?

I wanted to do something diffrent like put a hole in the top of one of the shelves next to the bed and put a clothes hamper or clothes bag below so I just push the clothes in the hole and then when we are done with the camping the dirty clothes are not all over the place.

Hi Matt -- I did not install the inspection hatch in the camper. The idea of putting a hatch to access a clothes hamper sounds pretty cool. That would be a good use of space.
