If you're handy get a couple of filter housings off amazon and build your own for less than half the price.

However you decide to go I would suggest mounting it outside. (mine mounts to my back bumper). No worry about leaks flooding your trailer, easy to change filters. If you have an outside bay that would work as well. Only problem is, it doesn't filter water from onboard tank but we filter that when we fill it.

I'm with "bob213" on mounting it outside the unit. Way too many posts on this forum about interior water filter systems leaking or the container having a crack in it. I use the exterior in-line water filters and have not had any problems. After returning home from a trip I have a way to mount it in my shop so that it drains completely then I camp both ends for storage. Before a trip I always attach my fresh water hose to the filter, add a squirt of Clorox to the hose before attaching to a faucet then let the water run through the hose/filter slowly to sterilize that part of the system. I then gravity drain the hose/filter and connect the ends together for storage. Once hooked up at the campsite I run the hot and cold water through each faucet and water heater to make me feel assured they are clean.

Would you be able to post a pic or two of how you have it mounted on the outside?

I will try and get out to trailer tomorrow and take some pics.
Basically put two bolts, nutted from inside of bumper with wing nuts on outside to match mounting holes of filter bracket. Remove wing nuts and mount bracket, replace wing nuts. I remove filter after each use and put it in kitchen sink to dry and air out.
