Is BestConverter still in business?

Over the past month I've submitted two questions, both of which were ignored. I placed an order last week and got an order confirmation but apparently it never shipped. So I tried emailing the address on their "contact us" page - no reply. Tried calling today - no answer. Left a VM and so far no call back. Anyone know what's going on with them?

I never had any luck getting them to answer email. And they usually don't answer the phone either. I always leave a voicemail, and they usually call me back with 24-48 hours.

OK thanks. I know it's a waste of time to grumble but if you look at their "Contact Us" page they brag about how responsive they are and return messages ASAP and blah blah blah. Grrrrr...

I understand. But I cut them some slack as they are a small family business and eventually will answer all questions and provide great advice.
I'm sure they have been impacted by covid shortages during a high demand period for anything RV.
But it can be frustrating waiting patiently for the personal service they grew their business on and are most proud of

Not just RV parts and pieces.

My Son and I had lunch the other day and he told me how the shortages are hurting his supply chain badly. We've reached the point where all the items that once were on warehouse shelves have been sold and factories are struggling to replace them.

So many people have been staying home due to shutdowns, layoffs, or in some cases just closed doors, due to the Covid-19 crisis production of even simple things has been severely impacted.

His business is garage doors. He can't get Garage Door Operators (openers) from his regular supplier so he has been forced to go shopping at all the Big Box stores in the area so he has them for his new garage door installs.

Pretty much anything that is/was made in China has been impacted by the Chinese shutdowns implemented there to combat the spread of Covid in their country.

Be prepared to see even more as demand remains the same, even increases, and factories are still operating at a fraction of their previous capacities.

Did I mention prices? Expect them to go UP. When demand exceeds supply that is a given.

Thanks guys! You are right, I was too impatient. Lauri just answered my email and said my item was back-ordered but should be in soon.

I run a small business also and I definitely understand the challenges.

Thanks again!

Agreed. I was really surprised it took this long to happen, what with so many companies doing just-in-time inventorying and manufacturing.

Finding supplies is just the beginning, shipping is a disaster. USPS 3 day priority can be 10 days or even lost. I ordered an item from a supplier in Oakland CA to my shop near Yosemite it went to SAC, Buffalo NY, Syracuse, Long Island, back to SAC then to me. My UPS driver told they have trailers sitting that haven’t been opened in weeks.
Getting things done quickly just leads to frustration.

I recently ordered and received a replacement from BestConverter. Happy with their service and converter.
