In late 2019 added a 43" Smart TV and locking pan/tilt mount onto the front cabinet which used to house the tube TV, now long since defunct, to increase our entertainment enjoyment and options.
The new tv setup travels solidly, and quietly for the most part even at interstate speeds. But when the road gets rough it needed some vibration dampening.
Got pool noodles and cut them to about 4" in length and they fit snugly over the cabinet edges and act as padding against the back bottom of the tv and the cabinet. There is 1 1/2" of clear space between them and they never rub against each other. I was careful to not add much pool noodle padding so as to stress any fasteners throughout the tv to mount connections.
I'll be road testing the change and if it works like I believe, I'll get some hook and loop fasteners to join the pool noodles to the back of the tv so they remain attached during travel.
