JT Strong Arms? Worth it?

I have a travel trailer with bunks in the back that always shakes in the front when kids go to the bathroom. I have the BAL X-chocks and have 4 stabilizer jacks on the trailer along with a power tongue jack. Would the strong arms be the best option to fix the bounce?

I have had them on all three of our campers and think they are worth it.

I paid $234.59 for a new set plus a "T-handle" wrench to turn the lock bolts. That was the cheapest I could find. I installed mine on my 5th wheel and they made the trailer much more stable. I DO use a set of BAL X-chocks, too... mainly because my b-i-l gave them to me.

We put on the Bal X heel chocks and added the JT strongarms, it was a world of difference. we feel very little movement now on our fifth wheel.

I put on my tt last month did one 6 day trip could not get them to make a big difference. We have a bunk room in back and the only movement we feel is when the kids move around I think it is a bouncing motion. I have the power stabs and they do not apply Much upward pressure. Please post a follow up with your results if you do them.

Since they are jumping around in the back and the JT's are in the front I can understand why you don't feel a difference. I would get another set of stabilizers to add to the rear of your TT to keep it from acting like a teeter toter. You can pick up a set of cheap manual ones to crank up in the rear. I hope that helps.

Just placed my order-probably won't be able to install them until Spring....hopefully they help reduce the bounce-all of your feedback has me thinking it might!

I have JT's in the back, too (along with electric rear stabilizers that came on the trailer). Most sets of JT's I've seen have 4 bars for the front and 2 for the back.

I've had JT's on my last 3 fivers ... like said "wouldn't leave home without them". All my kits came with 8 arms and mounts for both sides front and back. Depending on your unit, you may have to buy an 8' piece of angle iron to attach widthwise to the rear frame to provide something substantial to mount the rear inner arms to.

Will these work with lippert electric stabilizers or can they only be mounted on scissor jacks?

As far as I know, the answer to both questions is YES. I have a set attached to the foot pads of my Lippert electric stabilizers. The JT's StrongArm stabilizers website shows pics of bars attached to scissor jacks as I remember.

I purchased BAL Lockarms because they can be purchased in pairs rather than 4 or 6. I just saw a pair on Amazon for around $76. They're similar to Strong Arms although a little lighter. They made a substantial difference on my 5th wheel.

JT's work on about anything ... yes there are similar brands that do work, but they all have lighter materials and a bit less design features as in bronze bushings and fabricated clevises. JT's will adapt to scissor jacks or the BAL (or now Lippert) electric rear stabilizers. Like I mentioned earlier ... you will probably have to go to a iron and steel business and buy an 8' length of angle iron to go crossways in the rear ... on about any TT or fiver, there just is't much to attach the inner arms to.
