Kitchen back splash

I would love to get rid of the mirror tiles that are around the area where my stove is. My husband and I thought about self stick backsplash tiles, but he's afraid what will happen if we try and remove the mirror tiles. Not only are they held in with the screw holders at each corner, but glued on as well. He doesn't want the wall paper to come off in more than the area where we want to put the backsplash. Does anyone out there have any ideas, or have you tried the self-adhesive backsplash?

You could try a heat gun to loosen the tiles. Our new TT had the stick on tiles but they kept coming loose so I found some tile cement at Lowe's and so far have stayed in place. Later RJD

use a utility knife on the wall paper and it won't pull any further than that.

I redid the kitchen / living area of my motorhome to make it western/rustic. I put black steel on back and side of stove wall ( safer than plastic or the wallpaper),and used double-sided tape to mount. Also some decorative bronze tacks at corners. I replaced table and counter tops with stained and varathaned knotty spruce, sink and faucet with bronze copper and sink back splash with plastic hammered copper look sheets from Lowes. I attached it with Command strips . Turned out pretty good ,if I do say so myself!

Yep, I'd love to put pictures, but I don't know how! I'm too technologically challenged, and I'm old! Next time my son is here I'll ask him! I don't eve know how to do the emoticons:/.

Any way to thread some dental floss behind the tile and cut your way through the glue?
