Lectric e bike rack?

I just purchased an Lectric ebike and tried to use my Swagman XC rack. The 3" tires just fit the loops but I am concerned about the weight. I researched and found the weight limit for the rack is 35lbs per bike. The e bike weighs 57 without the battery. It does seem to be working with no issues sitting in my driveway, but on the road with bouncing?
I was camping earlier in the week and saw a few campers with them. Most rolled them into their van or car. Only one had a larger fabricated basket on his 2" receiver. My issue is compounded by my DW riding a tricycle and hers is in the basket. Mine will have to go on a hitch mounted bike rack.
Any thoughts or suggestions.

I think so. I need to raise it up and that is raise and has wider tire loops. What brand?

The brand is Hollywood and it was purchased from e-tailer. We have run about 6,000 miles with the rack/Bikes without issue.

We use a Kuat NV2.0 to carry 2 Lectric XP bikes. It's rated for 2 60 lb bikes. We ponied up extra for the loading ramp, overpriced but nice to have. The rack has built in bike locks, and an anti rattle hitch mount. Not cheap....

We use it on the back of a pickup, and have thousands of miles with the XP's on the rack.

Almost forgot..... the front tire hook doesnt fit the XP 20 inch wheel with the fender. But, it does fit over the bike main frame near the handle. It's actually a very stable location to hold the bikes still, and I'd prefer it vs the "proper" front wheel location.

Bought this rack for our 70lb ebikes to max combined weight of 225 lbs. Recommend ramp if installed height over 20".

We have the same rack that we originally bought for large Gazelle ebikes. We now have smaller foldable Terns. The support bar works fine on the tire, but the support pad for the front tire is too large. Kuat makes a modified pad, but like many things, it is back ordered. I resolved the problem with a pool noodle cut to fit on the tires. Cheaper too!

Also, many foldable bikes will fit into large storage containers. We bought two from Lowes. We can slide them into the back of our Honda CRV toad if we don’t want to use the rack (nice when traveling through bad weather to a hopefully sunny location).

We bought a SWAGMAN E bike rack. The only one we could find for two e-bikes 60# each that was RATED for a TT.
2" frame hitch rated for 300# on our Rockwood 2511S.
Fits both bikes with the tire rack mounted to the bumper.
Over 9,000 miles no problems. Locks to receiver hitch and bikes on rack.

I use the Thule T2 Pro xtr, I chose it over the Kuat because it has a better tightening device in the hitch.

One thing I didn't see mentioned on the discussion of racks to carry e-bikes was protection for the electronics on the bikes when driving. We found a pair of "water-proof" bike covers that we use along with a large elastic net over them. The Net is essential to keep the bike covers from billowing up and flapping at highway speeds. So far this is working although we haven't driven thru heavy rains with the e-bikes yet.

Search Quickrstuff Mach 2. Hands down the best, most convenient rack for heavy ebikes with fat tires. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for.Second choice would be the 1 up but you need extra parts for the fat tires. Both are made in the USA. Good Luck!

I have a problem with all the bike racks as the basket for my wife's tricycle already sticks out and adding all the bike racks I've seen will fit the receiver but will stick out, way out and is totally beyond being safe and will hit the pavement going out of driveways.
I found a review for the 10 best e bike racks and my Swagman Traveler XC2 is the highest rate of them all for behind a MH. Yet it says only 35 lb weight per bike, it's confusing.
The e bike fits the existing loops and locks in secure. I would think the weakest part is the tire loops. Going to ask a welding shop if the can find a way to beef the rack up somehow. Attached are photos. 2nd one shows the basket with my DW's trike and my old mountain bike.

Is the tube coming off the rise from the receiver a standard 2" tube? If so, I may be able to use my existing 2" straight tube coming off the basket and use it set up for 1 bike. Kinda expensive, but I don't see what else could work.

Dear Stagecoach driver,

Looking at the pictures you've posted I'd be concerned about all of the weight you're adding so far behind your rig. The farther the weight is centered away from the rig the higher effective weight is on your suspension and handling. I'd consider a second bike rack for e-bike mounted to the front of the RV. JMHO

I have ordered heavy duty tire loops from Hollywood racks that hold 70 lbs per bike and designed for RV. Should arrive around end of week.

I got the heavy duty fat tire loops and with a little bit of shimming, I got them secured on the rails. Gave it a try and the bike is securely mounted on the rack. I did have to also purchase a metal piece that fits on the tire loop to prevent the derailleur from hanging up and getting damaged from the 20" tires sitting too low in the rear loop. Ended up costing $150, but it's cheaper than buying a whole new rack for $500+.

We have been very happy with our Kuat NV2. I particularly like the ease of tightening the hitch into the receiver so there is no sideways or up/down bounce…particularly important when transporting heavy bikes.
