Light covers

Hi, I am looking for creative ways to cover the existing dome lighting on the wall in the bedroom. My husband does not like the bright lights coming from the LED bulbs, but I refuse to put the original bulbs back in because of the battery drain, and the heat it generates
I put together a quick fix by rigging up some flexible craft foam sheets with masking tape and bending over the light to make a wall sconce of sorts.
It works great, but isn't very attractive (sorry, no pics of my creative fix).
I'm wondering if anyone else has solved the "bright" problem short of just turning the light off. I am open to any suggestions. My biggest concern is how to attach it to the wall which is shared with the closets on either side of the bed. Doesn't appear to be a solid piece of wood.

I cut some transparent plastic sheets (flash gels) on the DWs shilouett cutter to put inside the lights over the bed

I put in an $8 dimmer onto the light over my bed. So much better to be able to dial in the brightness I want vs the assault on my eyes.

Has anyone had one of these LED lights go bad? Our 21fbrs is only one year old and one already does not work, are they hard to replace.
