Lippert Solid Stance Step Stabilize-- NICE!

I recently noticed how the bottom step on my folding steps (3) was sagging more than usual. I'd been losing weight so I knew it wasn't all me.

I was considering a block or two to prop it up while stopped and also wondered what was on the market to help stabilize the step. I found this on Amazon:

https://smile.amazon.com/Lippert-Sta...s%2C220&sr=8-3

I ordered and a couple weeks later it arrived.

Just finished installing it and it's everything they claim. Like how the legs can be adjusted separately to accommodate uneven ground which is the case on my pad.

Don't know if this has been posted before but if not, it's worth looking at if you have folding steps.

I have the little screw type step braces that to be honest are a pain in the tail and I forget them most of the time. Thanks for posting this I'm going to take a look and may order based on your recommendation thanks.

sign of the times I just ordered these and my delivery date is 1 Jan to 8 Jan kind of slow for something off Amazon. I will repost in Jan after I install these and test at the shop. (I winter camp at my ranch shop)

Update:

After installing I made several trips in and out of my TT prepping for next trip. When stepping on bottom step the "diving board" effect is gone. Just like using regular steps.

That looks like a much better solution than the screw post type. These would always be in position to deploy without digging through a tote somewhere.

thanks for the real world review. We special ordered the old folding steps for our trailer because the fold out type everyone uses now won't work for our home parking spot, would not be able to get in the door. Looked at the better scissor type steps but same problem, this might get us close to the best solution.

Nayther - that is my thinking as well. I have pondered replacing my springboard steps but don't like the issues that come with some of the new "better" type steps.

Not only in position to deploy but stowing is easy-peasy. Flip up bottom step, retract leg extensions by pulling spring loaded pins, then fold down main leg by pulling pins then securing when down with same pins.

No need to get on hands and knees for either operation as both can be done by flipping step up or down as needed.

One caveat with the Solid Stance product is that it is not intended for use if you have electric steps, at least not Kwikee steps. Lippert says it's too much weight for the mechanism.

Someone just installed them on their Georgetown's Kwikee 3-step electric steps so I guess we'll find out if that extra weight is an eventual problem or not.

The shipping weight, including packaging is 6.5 lbs.

Not exactly heavy but apparently too much for electric steps.
In my experience (years ago) with electric steps they didn't serm to have the same diving board spring. My previous TT only had two steps vs my current one with three. The 2-steps were more solid too.

Do you have any pics of the install? This looks like a great product!

Nice

I have the PITA screw type and I'll be getting this before the next trip. Don't mind waiting.

Just a tip, while locating to mark drill holes do it with the stabil step unit in the stowed position before marking drill holes.

Especially important if front edge of step is curved. If you locate with struts up and holes covered, the pads at end of extension legs will not be able to lay flat when stowed due to the curve.

If you mount too close to edge of radiused step you'll end up with an extra row of holes.

At least if you do they'll just look like water drain holes. Mine look pretty good[emoji16]

You do realize the "Polar Route" from Santa's workshop now passes over China and that's now leading to delays [emoji16]

Good to know. I was looking at these a few weeks ago and plan on upgrading from the screw-type post to these in the spring.
