Microlite 23LB (Murphy Bed Option) Couch Replacement

Has anyone replaced the standard couch on the 23LB "murphy bed model" with another couch or individual chairs? We find ours uncomfortable, but aren't sure of a replacement option that will still allow the proper clearance for folding down the bed.

I would think those are made specifically for accommodating the Murphy Bed, I know they don't all look the same in different photos, but they do all have to accomplish that "lay down flat" position for the Murphy bed to be able to come down,..... we find ours very handy for "afternoon naps" and with it opened out flat can accommodate us both, w/out having to lower the MB,...... couldn't do that with chairs... inspect yours closely, you may have something about it that isn't right, broken/bent parts, missing screws, ect.........

barnskee, we were thinking of doing the something similar. Our plan is to remove the murphy bed (MB)and jackknife couch KC) and replace both of them with a Comfort Sleeper Sofa (CSS). The CSS is much more comfortable and longer than the MB. Also, by placing the CSS next to the front wall, we gain extra floor space! We are still researching the weight of the CSS compared to the MB and JC. Does anyone have approximate weights for the MB and JC? We have contacted the CSS factory to get weight information from them. We are looking at a queen size bed, with minimal arm thickness to fit between the existing cabinets.

Honestly, it would be a pricey upgrade, but we feel the better mattress (longer and easier to get onto), much more comfortable couch and the extra floor space would be worth the investment. We current have a CSS in out game/guest room and everyone cannot believe it is a fold out bed.
