More updates

The overhead storage above the bed came from the factory with only two doors, I added the three opened doors. Also, the overhead storage above the sofa only had three doors so again I added doors for easier access. In the small trailers counter space is limited so I made the cover for the stove burners. Found this Black & Decker under the cabinet hanging coffee maker - it also frees up counter space. Didn't like the over the door towel hanger moving around so I modified it & secured it to the bathroom door (notice the door pull on the right of the towel rack - wife is disabled so we added two of these for security when she gets out of the shower).

Have a couple of other items I am working on but with the heat 103 today in north central KS they will have to wait.

We knew downsizing from a 31 foot 5th wheel with two slides pulled by a Dodge diesel dually we would have to make adjustments. I love the ease of towing the Rockwood 1809S Mini Lite with a 1/2 ton pickup - even the setup is easier & my wife thinks the smaller unit is less work for her. When it comes time to give the little unit a bath (roof included) that also will be less work.

On my 2106, the sofa/bed is @ the front w/ the OHC. Did you just remove the "fixed" panels & install hinges? If it's easy (I'd rather work w/ metal than wood) I might add the extra doors to my TT.

I've seen this mod quite a bit. I take it you remove the metal cover that comes w/ the stove?

Post some pics of the outside.

I was initially thinking of getting a 19' Jayco, but ended up w/ the 2106. Two trips so far w/ it this summer & couldn't be happier w/ the layout.

Yes I removed the fixed wood panels. If you look close you will see that the three added doors are shorter than the original ones. The reason being is because I am cheap. Actually I stopped at a RV Salvage yard & they had lot's of doors but none the exact size but when I found I could them for $1.00 per door as I said I'm cheap. I did have to frame around them as the opening was bigger than the doors. As for the metal cover over the range our trailer didn't come with one from the factory.

Nope, not me. I am safe and sound just outside of New Orleans in my own driveway.

I really like that coffee maker. Is it a 4 cup or 8 cup model. I'm the only one that drinks coffee in my family. Poor unfortunate souls don't know what they're missing! Since our only receptacle in the kitchen area is in the bottom of the overhead cabinets that coffemaker would be a welcomed addition.

Charlie, if you are the only coffee drinker then you should look into a Keurig maker. Uses single cups(pods) so you only make as much as you will drink not a pot that may go half unused. They make a really small one that would work perfect. Nice thing is that pods are available with all types of teas and even hot chocolate. They make great coffee. We love ours. We have one at work too and it gets a LOT of use and has worked great for several years, very durable.

Love the coffeemaker, 'Emptypockets' - are you happy with it? We lucked into finding the old style of the B & D spacesaver last year and put it above the sink in our TT. In the process, one of the screws cut a wire running in the hollow space under the cabinet. Of course, we didn't know that until we went on a trip. We had coffee and the microwave, but no lights on that side of the TT. $240!!! to get the lights back on; sure was good coffee though.

My 8314SS has the same thing, although there is a receptacle on the face of the counter next to the stove as well. I'm going to use a Wiremold product to help tame the cord to the free-standing coffee pot on our counter. Pics to follow when I execute.

I have a 4 cup little excuse me, coffee maker at home. I usually go through it with no problem, but the one in the motorhome is 12 cups, takes up too much space, lights up the room at night-time with the bold blue numbers. I'll check into the Keurig, thanks.

Are you helping me spend money again?

It is a 8 cup B & D coffee maker. It sets under the microwave & to install we removed the microwave to access the same plug the microwave uses. I did beef up the bottom of the cabinetry

Emptypockets,
I like your mods. Especially the under counter coffee maker. That'll free up some counter space.

When, or if ours goes out, I'll be looking for one of those.
