The reason I wanted some off of Amazon, is I figure everyone in China has quit working and are all watching them win the Olympics.

Who knows how long it will take to get them now.

Do the ones from eBay (China) include the 110v plug? If so can someone please post a link so that I can order from there?

I want to install the lights in the awning groove like Wagon52 did. From what I can tell, is maybe the lights that they ordered didn't have the double-sided tape pre-installed on them. Is this correct?

The ones on Amazon and/or the ones Lou is using, do have this tape, which may be the problem in getting the Amazon lights to slide into the groove as easy. Is this also true?

If so, how hard would it be to remove the tape from the light strip (if ordered from Amazon), to be able to place the strip into the awning groove.......or has anyone else already successfully placed a light strip into the awning with the tape strip attached?

Thanks
Mine has the tape, same kind as Lou. I left the tape backing on mine and pushed it into the awing channel just to try it and never pulled it out yet. I installed it without a problem.

Rolling the awning up hasn't had any Ill effects? I would like mine on the the roller as well but figured it wouldn't stick to the awning base as it isn't smooth

Tried my new LED lights on my 8 day trip last week and they seemed to hold up fine. Mine came with the 3m tape on the back of them so I just taped it to the roller tube right above the channel. Was going to insert them into the channel but the lights got in the way of my awning pull strap. Had several days of torrential downpours and drove in a lot of rain and they did just fine. I rolled them up with the awning and they worked each time I put the awning out. I also put some of the clear LED's under the front of the RV by the propane tanks, by each of my steps and on the back. Have a seperate switch for the steps and the front and back. I used Marine grade switchs that had red LED tips on the switch so you can tell when they are on. Mounted the switches in the front of the RV.

The LED's are real easy to work with. I bought a 16' roll of the waterproof clear LED's for about $12.00 You can cut these every 3 inches if needed. After cutting all you have to do is solder a positive and negative wire to them and they run on 12v. Super easy to do and work with.

I wanted to mention for everyone. If you search in Ebay for "waterproof led 5050 rgb" and sort by distance, you should be able to find a few USA sellers. I did, yes, I paid more then the 22.00, but less then Amazon, I think I paid 27.00, they came from Chicago in about 3 days, they have the 3m tape on back, and are look identical to the other lights. they did NOT come with the 110 adapter, they did come with the controller and remote, but I think most of us are wiring these into the 12Volt system on the camper, so who cares. The same seller did have a 110 adapter for a few more $$. Radio shack could also hook someone up with an adapter, though not sure what the cost would be.

I was happy to pay the additional 5.00. I called it expedited shipping.

Finally arrived

After reading all the posts and all the hype on these lights mine finally arrived. I ordered mine from Amazon and my first concern is it says they are not waterproof. Now-I am totally confused as to how you mount the remote sensor and the converter. Where do you put all this stuff!!?? I have a Rockwood Roo 19 w/13' awning. Right now I have boxed everything up and am contemplating sending everything back. If anyone can give me some input/pictures as to how to do this I would appreciate it. Also, I can't even figure out all the buttons on the remote. I'm beginning to think that the white Xmas lights for 3.99 at the Xmas Tree Shop are a GREAT deal! Please Help!
