new mattress

I am in the market for a new RV mattress. What does the community have to say about the best mattress on the market? One with coils or just foam rubber.
I know its a personal selection, but what are the best on the market with the best warranty. Our original mattress is worse than horrible.

When it comes to comfort, it’s best to test them before purchasing.

The cheapest most inexpensive "real" mattress would be light years ahead in comfort than a factory RV mattress in most units. Yes, I know that some high end motorhomes come with sleep-numbers...etc

I had previously purchased one called "Spa Sensations" in a box from the local Wally and it was very comfortable. For my current trailer, I have one called Arctic Dreams by Brooklyn Bedding and it's equally as comfortable...also came in a box.

How much do you want to spend?
I added a $100 deep foam mattress topper to my Rockwood and for some reason I sleep better in the RV than at home. Sometimes I just out in the backyard for a good night's sleep.

How does one go about trying them out when they come in a box from a factory?

our factory mattress is really shot, should have replaced it long ago. We currently have a mattress topper which helps a little, but that is wearing out also

Unless you are aware of someone that has the exact one that you're looking for, there is no feasible way. What I did was literally pore over the reviews with an open mind keeping aware that some people simply are never going to be happy.

I realize that buying a mattress without being able to test it and actually touch one in a store sounds not normal, I took a leap and couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. And it would seem so are tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of other people.

They still have mattress stores, right?

I just bought a new Shasta 18FQ and looking for a mattress. Read a bunch of reviews and going to mattress firm later this week to lay on a few. It's an RV queen (6" shorter than standard queen), but I'm replacing it with a regular queen.

Good luck finding a mattress in a mattress store if ya have one of the unusual sizes (short queen, camper king...etc) The ones that I went to wouldn't even be able to make one.

Many of the rv sized mattress also come in regular sizes. These regular sizes are in stores, so you can get a feel for the mattress. I made sure to look at mattresses that come in both regular and RV sizes AND were on display.

We replaced ours with a Zinus from Amazon.

Memory foam and real comfortable. We liked it so much we replaced the house mattresses with the same brand.

We have had put a Spa Sensations 8-inch Mattress with Memory Foam from Walmart (we are in Canada) in three travel trailers and one in our house, and been very happy with them. In two of the trailers we had to cut them down in size, but wasn't hard to do with a sharp knife. My wife resewed the covering by hand after I cut them down.
