Bringing home 2019 Rockwood 2798WS Wednesday. I would like to swap out the existing thermostat for an electronic one. I will ask dealer for sure, but I wonder if that invalidates the warranty?
I look at it from a reasonableness point of view. Things I change and modifications I make are my responsibility. Things I leave alone should be covered by warranty.
For instance, my WFCO converter will not go into trickle mode. It would be a warranty issue, but I don't want a WFCO replacement. So I am buying a Progressive Dynamics 4135 replacement and will install it myself. This makes the wiring that I touch my responsibility, also.

They would have to prove the non oem part caused a failure..
IF for some reason the furnace quits working under warranty, I would certainly replace the OEM thermostat where it was when you picked it up... perhaps the mod DID cause a problem...
