Out with the old

Well this should be the last big mod to our camper. So with the new year being here, it's out with the old "dinette" and in with the new. Just like the jackknife couch, it just wasn't comfortable to sit at. So now we more room and can move the table to more spots/locations. Plus we can use our comfortable computer chairs instead of the bench seats. There's room for the dog and cat beds under the center section. Reused the strip lights that that was under the bench seat doors, now they light up the end bookcase storage. Also use one of the old doors and added it to one of the overhead storage areas for better access.

I really like the looks of that. Can you please show a picture with the chairs? Jay.

Nice clean lines on that modification. Sometimes less is more...... It certainly makes the space look larger.

Looks good, what do you plan to keep the table in place while traveling? How about the chairs while traveling? Mods usually take some after thought. Safe travels.

Movement

I have made one short trip with nothing moving around. The small table slides up under the larger one, the chairs I lay on their backs and put misc. items on them like water jugs, the ice maker, etc. So far, so good.

With chair

Jay2504 asked to see a picture with chairs in place. One chair stays in the camper all the time and we bring the other one from the house when we head out. In this picture, the movable table in the middle of the other table with the chair on the right hand side. There is a equal amount of room on the left hand side.

Thanks for the picture. We mostly use our dinette table for playing cards with the occasional bowl of cereal thrown in. That set up would work for us. Jay

Out with the old

How difficult is it to remove the u-dinette.
I have a Salem 27DBUD and hate the dining area. It takes up a ton of space and we don't use it. I would like to remove it and add a couple of recliners

Not bad at all . just start removing screws save some of the covered trim pieces to cover the outside edges when done . you'll know what i mean when you get there . removed mine 3 yrs ago and installed recliners .

Just like Mr.M said, not bad at all. I took pictures along the way mostly for show & tell but also so I could see how long the screws were and where they came from. You just might want to know how long a screw can be that goes into the wall or floor is. You wouldn't want to poke a hole through something now would you.
