Outdoor TV
I would like to add an outdoor TV to our 2011 Surveyor SP260. I did a quick search of the forums and didn't see a whole lot of info. One good thread on a mounted rail and fabricated bracket. Since fabrication is not really in my wheelhouse I am hoping to find a small off the shelf low profile bracket similar to what comes on some of the newer trailers. I think the easiest is just to mount a bracket to the wall below the dinette window. Given the location I could likely put a backer board inside the trailer for support if needed, and it would be hidden by the dinette cushions. Any tips on a good bracket, drilling through the wall (yikes), the need for a backer board, screws vs through bolts, etc? I know it may be pretty difficult to find a wall stud so I may try some test "pinholes" on the inside. Also I assume I need to start small and progress to larger bits to not crack the fiberglass. Thanks in advance for any tips and ideas.

Unfortunately no cubbies-only the front storage area. I was originally thinking about putting an articulating arm in the front pass through storage area but I don't think I could get it to reach under the awning.

I ordered this from their ebay store.

My garage tv is a 32" lcd that weighs 12 pounds without the base. This bracket is rated for 27 lbs.

Hey 100turbo, did you buy that mount or did it come with the trailer? That's the kind of mount I was looking for. If you bought it do you have a link?

Chof16, I hope I can help some.
There is a website called monorpice.com They are great for buying many things audio/video/technology related. If I am understanding you right, you're looking for a mount to keep on the outside of the TT and then be able to simply drop the tv onto, and lift off when done. This is what's on some of the new TT out there. They usually expect you to do this with about a 19" tv. When I was searching monprice for you, I found that they do have a smaller bracket that holds up to a 23" and then I found one that will support up to a 32". This is the link to the one that is 32" and you can search the site and find the smaller one if that is what you are looking for.
HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!
A decent stud finder should help you, but you can also do some pin holes as well. With the weight of a newer style LED 32", if you can hit a stud on one side and get two screws into it, I would feel plenty confident. Remember, you're not running the trailer up and down the bumpy roads with this TV hanging on here. We have a 32" LCD in our bedroom of our Sierra 365saq and I only could hit one stud. It's been up for a year with no problems.
If you cannot hit a stud, I am sure a backerboard will be just fine.
Good luck, post pictures after!

Thanks for the responses and good information. The low profile mount is what I was looking for. The biggest thing I am worried about is finding a stud and drilling/screwing into the exterior fiberglass wall. That is why I was thinking about trying to find a stud from the inside. I have read on several threads here that stud finders wont work- any experience that they do?

No, the siding is not drawn in. You might try some sort of spacer behind the mount in the siding valley.
