Portable waste tank storage

I just bought a portable waste tank for this year's vacation. It's the first one I've had and I need a place to mount it during travel. Does anyone have any suggestions of what you've done or where not to mount it? My bumper is not designed to have a cargo carrier. Thanks in advance.

My bumper is not designed to carry cargo but I bought a bolt on receiver hitch. (Make sure it has a bolt that can tighten so the hitch won't flop)Then I welded some gussets on the bumper to reinforce it. I bought a light weight aluminum cargo rack. As long as the tote is empty it should not cause a problem to carry it there. I have been doing it for years on my trailer with no issues. if you have a ladder, the hanger shown in the link below is used by many folks to hang the tank and many other things, like bikes, chairs, ect. on the trailer ladder................

Mine fits in the bed of my pickup but if it didn't I'd seriously look at the mount this guy did using a lightweight dolley on the bumper. It's about half way down the page.

I think Herk7769 has a similar mount on his 5er that's tied into the ladder.

This thread on RV.Net has some other ideas.

I've used this on my old fiver, worked great with a couple of bungee cords. It now is strapped down between the tailgate and the fifth wheel hitch as my new fiver does not have a ladder.

I store mine in my front storage compartment (not on the side of the unit but on the front of my 5er)

Thetford has a new product out. "MOUNT A TOTE" is specifically made for your waste tanks and can be used if you have a ladder installed.

I carry mine in bed of TV. Also, picked up a grill cover at Academy to cover/camouflage the tank.

I've used the chair storage rack on my ladder for years. Works great.

Bed of Truck. Better than back of trailer.

When I had my Rockwood 2109s I was able to use a longer u bolt and a few spacers on the spare tire mount to make room for "blue boy" to ride between the spare and the back of the trailer. If I dig around I might find pictures of the setup. I then used a ratchet strap to hold it in place

I saw a pic not too long ago where someone used a BAL hide-a-spare spare tire carrier. Can't remember if he had the spare tire and tote tank on together or not. Would depend on what size a tote tank is.

Chair rack on the ladder. Been on there for years. Zero issues. Works very well.
