Propane chain lock
Someone posted the other day about a mod they did where they locked up their propane tanks with a chain. I have searched but cannot find that post again. Anyone have a link to it? It may have been part of another post. I hate when I can't find something I was looking at again. I do it all the time.
Thanks in advance for the help

I just use cable locks on mine...
If someone wants them bad enough, no matter what we do they will get them.
But at least when the thieves see some kind of lock they might just move on to your neighbor's unlocked tanks instead.

Propane chain lock
X2 on the cable locks. I like that you can get them in self-set combo locks at walmart(bike section) for <$10.
Now that I moved to a 5er, the cable locks are the only solution.
Ps, I also use cable locks on spare tires.

Bicycle cable lock for me also. Through the handles of the tanks and around the welded frame of my trailer.

Thanks, looks like I'm taking a trip to Walmart. Just wish I could find the post I was reading. I liked the way he did it. That's what I get for not bookmarking.

If you go with a cable lock buy a really good one. I have one I use for my golf cart charger. They very easy to crack the code. I lost my code after not using it for a while and looked on you tube before I replaced it. There are a tone of videos of kids teaching you how to get them open in less than a minute. I did the same with the same result so yes buy a key style lock.

Mine are keyed...not combination locks.
It was a three-pack from Walmart...all three use the same key!
I also used them to lock my two batteries on my previous TT to the trailer tongue.

Then make sure you have copies of the keys strategically stored in case you lose your main key ring.
I have dupe's of every key for my trailer securely stored inside the trailer with a spare key to the main door hidden in a very non-traditional location. Believe me, I doubt anyone else would even think of this location.

Keep in Mind:
I inquired about adding a cargo door lock to propane compartment. Dealer told me it is illegal to do this due to fire hazard. I would guess locking tanks falls into same idea. Fireman can not remove tanks in a fire, whole rig burns. Use Caution!

Fireman just need access to turn turn off or make sure the tanks are turned off. They cant remove propane tanks from a Cass A or Class C, and I dont think they would waste time removing them from a trailer, they would just make sure they are turned off.

I guess that makes more sense. It is a shame we have to think about locking our own property like this item. Such Loser’s who do steal. I saw a owner of a Class A steal a families charcoal lighter fluid. $2.00 item and they were driving a $300,000+ Class A.
I guess that is how they could afford such a pricey rig....

That used to happen to me a lot. Since I'm using my phone on the forum I take a screen shot of interesting posts. If you're using a computer there may also be a way to copy the screen but I don't remember how.
