I used brass fittings to 'T' off the gas system just past the auto-changeover valve. From the 'T', I used one of those 10 foot gas grill extension hoses (rubber) from Home Depot to run over to the door side of the 5er through the same conduit that houses the hose that joins the two tanks. Then, I used a brass coupler to add another 10 foot hose. At the end of this hose is a gas appropriate ball valve followed by a quick-disconnect fitting. The mate to the QD is installed on my Weber Q grill. I roll the hose up and use a Velcro strap to store at the hand-hold of the propane tank. When I get ready to hook up the grill I open the propane access door and drop the hose out the bottom. I felt comfortable using rubber hoses since I essentially mimicked what was already there to join the tanks.
