Do they have a switch, so that you can turn them on/off manually, or prevent them from coming on every time something wiggles in a compartment when going down the road?

Just checked mine, no switch, so you are right, they may come on if contents of compartment are moving around enough. They time out pretty quickly with no movement though.

This is available on Amazon for $14.99. I have installed them in all closets and under all sinks in my home. I have also installed them in the 10 storage compartments in my Jayco Greyhawk 30Z motorhome.

I agree with 5picker on this one. To string powered lights is a frustrating project at best. The pictured light with the switch can be bought double bright (4 LED strips instead of 2) for larger compartments. Changing batteries each season is so much easier.

Did the insulation help keeping the temperature stable?

We use several of these, including in our entry stairwell in case it’s dark and all the lights are out. You may find them even cheaper.

I have a bunch of battery operated LED puck lights I use all over my camper, we boondock so it is great not to use the big overhead lights when you don't need to. The batteries in theses Led's last quite a while and you would be surprised on how write they really are. Besides a lot of extra work to run wires through a trailer.

Rope light nice thought and looks like it would do well. Is it battery or did you tie it into the electrical system?

By the way, what also caught my eye was your paper towel dispenser. Couldn't perfectly see what type it was. I have been toying with adding one to my 5er but haven't found anything that I think will work real well yet. Looks like yours might do. Not to high jack the thread but can you share? Thanks

I like the concept of these. I bought two of those touch round puck lights for underneath the sink and in the closet where all my lights for the unit are. They are not working to my satisfaction as they seem to turn on when going down the road, thus the batteries are dead when you eventually need them. Might try to pick a couple of these up and see how they do.

The strip light is 12 vdc.

The paper towel holder comes in real handy since most of our cooking is done outside.

Hasn't really been cold enough to tell, but it almost has to help. I also did the back wall behind the panel board.

Easy trick to keep the paper towels from unrolling while traveling. Tie a .5 oz fishing weight to the top and hang it over the roll so the weight is about 2" below the roll. Works very well.

I am very risk adverse.

Since a tiny LED 12V draw, can bring a batt set down to zero, in time (dead batts that cant be recharged) the hassle of replacing a couple of AA batts is of no concern.
